Hi friends! I've been MIA for a while but that is because I have a life update. I moved from Chicago to Seattle! I moved in early July and I have spent the last month or so setting up my new place. I live in a gorgeous, quaint little neighborhood in a place that I am absolutely in love with. I am really excited to make Seattle my home for at least the next 5 years!
Moving in general is exciting, but this move is particularly exciting because it happened during a time of extreme uncertainty. I ended up finding a place and settling on it without seeing it in person (that was a little nerve wracking!) After finding my place, I eagerly wanted to get out to Seattle but it seemed like the pandemic was getting worse and worse, so I put everything on hold. A few months passed and finally things seemed to be settling down in Seattle so I set a date and my mom and I flew with Laila. I was extremely nervous to get on an airplane during the pandemic but honestly I felt like everything was very clean and we had no issues. (We flew Southwest. They are flying at 60% capacity and keep the middle seat open. Everybody was required to wear a mask on the airplane).
My mom and I accomplished so much while she was here for two weeks. We had my car and furniture delivered (I will definitely be posting about my furniture later!), and ran a ridiculous number of errands attempting to set up as much as possible before she left. We went on daily walks, scouted out the area, and ended up falling for this beautiful city!
I am so so so excited to be here, especially because for a while I was not sure if it was going to happen. As I've settled in this past month, I've gotten to explore the beautiful PNW and am completely enamored by it. I've never lived in a place with mountains so I've been hiking almost every week.
School starts in 6 weeks and until then, I'll be enjoying the beautiful outdoors and all that Seattle has to offer :)
THE VIEW!!! I love this view from Kerry Park in Queen Anne. You can see Mount Rainier popping up in the background :)
I love how everything is surrounded by water! The color of the water is so gorgeous too!
Kindly,
Kaveri
